Most of us experience emotional, personal or interpersonal difficulties at some stages of our lives. Usually we are able to work through and overcome these difficutlies ourselves but at other times we might find we are stuck and unable to change how we feel and what we do. In such cases, meeting with a psychological therapist can help you find a solution and improve your life.

I’m a qualified and experienced clinical psychologist based in Henley-on-Thames.

I offer psychological therapy for a variety of problems, including:

  • anxiety
  • panic attacks
  • depression
  • phobias
  • obessions and compulsions
  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • eating disorders
  • work-related difficulties
  • relational difficulties
  • bereavement

My preferred approach is brief strategic and systemic therapy. This approach takes the view that many psychological problems are maintained by natural reactions and thought processes of the sufferer or people around them that may be intended to help but in fact can be counter-productive. These reactions and behaviours can reinforce and aggravate the problem and suffering. The therapy focuses on these currently occurring processes and intervenes to bring about small but significant changes that lead the way to a new equilibrium and relief from the suffering. The goal is to alleviate the client’s suffering quickly and to promote change in an efficient and sustainable way. Carefully designed and well tested plans of treatment are followed and tailored to the individual problem. Read more about the therapy here
